The RSC Active River Clean Up
22 Mar '20 | 10:00am
22 Mar '20 | 3:00pm
Join River Stewardship Company, GoodGym and ShAFF for a mass clean up event on the banks of the river Don. Hundreds of people use this section of the river every day for commuting or fitting in a lunchtime jog, and we can all help encourage this active use by keeping it free of plastic and rubbish.
Come to the car park at the junction of Effingham Street and Effingham Road, on the south side of Sheffield Bailey Bridge. Look out for the RSC's gazebo. We're encouraging you to travel to the event in any active way you see fit - be it via the 427-mile Cycle Route 6, a brisk stroll along the Five Weirs Walk, or even by canoe! There are railings to secure your bike and Effingham Street is on the regular 52/52a bus route from the city centre. If you'd like to make your day even more active, you can join the GoodGym run starting from outside the ShAFF Outpost at the Workstation at 10am.
To say thank you for your efforts, everyone who travels to us under their own steam will receive an active-themed reward!
Book your non-running place on the Active River Clean up using the button below.
Reserve your running place on the GoodGym River Raid via Goodgym online.
Top tip: don't book on both, or we'll end up counting you twice!
For more information about this event, contact the River Stewardship Company.
River banks are changeable places and sometimes we need to move the location of our clean up events to make sure everyone is safe and has a great time. If we do, it will be somewhere within Sheffield city centre, and we’ll let everyone who has reserved a spot know a few days in advance.
