Kayaking off the world's highest ice waterfall
About
Running time
18 minutes
Searching for a new frontier in kayaking, Aniol Serrasolses scours the Arctic for uniquely ephemeral and challenging waterfalls on the edge of the Northern Ice Sheets. After traversing the icy plains of Greenland on the lookout for elusive ice-melt rivers and waterfalls, Aniol Serrasolses and crew head to Svalbard, deep in the Arctic circle.
Here, aboard a highly-specialised vessel they travel to the Bråsvellbreen glacier, one of the most remote places on Earth where the 20m-high icewall provides waterfalls like the team had never seen before. A technical and athletic challenge like no other then unfolds on the icy waters and glaciers culminating in a unique and visually-stunning world-first waterfall descent.
