Making an Outdoor Passion Count for Good

A Second Hand Kit Sale with a difference

Making an Outdoor Passion Count for Good

What better way to make one person’s love of the outdoors count for the future than at “The Festival of the Outdoors” and especially SHAFF. The Sheffield Adventure Film Festival, celebrates and explores the great outdoors through film.

SHAFF welcomes everyone. It has welcomed me to take part, to share my dream to make one man’s love of walking count, by giving back to education. Sincere thanks to SHAFF organisers for this priceless opportunity.

My partner died suddenly six months ago. He loved the countryside and was a walker all his adult life. He knew the Peak District well, and at times had led walks. He was interested in everything: nature, geology, photography, bird watching, and more and often combined these on his walks.

Most of all, he loved and was interested in people. He often stopped to talk to fellow ramblers along the way, which sometimes made the walks longer, but added to his delight and pleasure. He would have loved the energy of SHAFF and meeting new people.

He enjoyed shopping and indulged his expert bargain hunting skills in the outdoor shops! SHAFF is generously giving me the opportunity to sell his outdoor gear at the festival.

All proceeds from the sale will go to fund an educational bursary for a deserving print and design student. He had a print and graphics career, so it feels right to support the next generation of designers and creatives going forward. Doing so, feels a continuation of the energy of his love of the outdoors and his legacy.

There will be many brands on the stall: Rab, Paramo, Buffalo, Sprayway, and others, as well as camping kit. All looking for new owners for a new lease of life and future adventures in the great outdoors.

Photo shows a selection of the kit that will be on offer: a super rare electric blue Batura expedition jacket in mint condition, Rab red Neutrino plus jacket, Paramo trousers, Rohan vintage and non vintage trousers/tops, Sprayway jackets and waterproofs and many more.

All the items have been loved and well cared for, so things range from good to excellent condition. All from a very clean, pet, smoke and perfume free home, and freshly laundered with low allergy detergent.

Sizing is mainly small, and medium with the occasional large depending on the brand. Trousers are short to medium length. There are even a couple of ladies items too. Please come visit the stall (next to Alpkit) and say hello and get yourself a bargain, while contributing to making a difference in a small way.

Cash payments please as no card facilities

Looking forward to meeting you at the festival.
