Inspired by stories of the mountains from a young age, Georgia Tindley moved to Edinburgh when she left home to be close to the Scottish Landscapes she read and dreamed about. As a teacher and athlete, she has tailored a lifestyle that blurs the line between work, life and play. She loves that she is able to inspire her pupils through her teaching and her running, and likes that she is able to break the quiet, studious stereotype of English teachers and prove that no one has to fit a mould. The classroom is an environment wich she loves, but it comes with constant demands. Its hectic and busy, which balances perfectly with the solitary brain space provided by running in the mountains. Running provides mental space but demands a lot physycally, which balances with curling up in the van to read a book. Reading the same authors who influenced her initial love for Scottish wilderness. Balance is an athlete profile of Georgia Tindley, exploring her life, her running, her litereary inspiration and the balance that she finds in each. A film by Jimmy Hyland, Edited by Reuben Bakker-Dyos. Quotes read by Seana Forbes.

Sustainability Notes:

This is not a sustainability film, but it is a story about appreciating and exploring the outdoors. The film making process was as sustainably minded and small footprint as possible. We were a small team, filmed over a small period and used only one vehicle in the whole process. The film was produced by JHPVisuals, who each year offset their annual business footprint (as thoroughly as possible) through a number of channels, including 1% for the Planet Membership and donating films to charities and CIC's working to further the environmental conversation.
