Mountain runner Finlay Wild talks to Ally Beaven in the latest of ShAFF's pay-as-you-feel online talks.
Finlay Wild is no newcomer to top level racing; the first of his eleven Ben Nevis Race wins came in 2010, his first Scottish title in 2013 and his first British title in 2015. He's been winning big things for a while. And yet in the last few years, he's been getting better; records on the Big Rounds, breaking 3 hours at Jura, toppling a 30 minute Colin Donnelly record at Buckden Pike.
Ally Beaven, who's spent that last few years getting worse, pokes and prods the Lochaber A.C. supremo to see what has made this possible. And what, if anything, the rank and file of hill running might learn from his success.
