Adventurer and filmmaker Beau Miles rekindles an old rivalry with Pete — his former high-school nemesis who's now living with “stuffed” hips and is due to have surgery. Together, they set out to tackle one of Australia’s toughest 100-kilometre mountain ultramarathons. The pact is simple: Beau will run beside him, film the journey, speak only in encouragement, and do everything in his power to get his mate to the finish line. In their first attempt, they made it to the 60km mark before the cut-off end their day. One year later, with surgery delayed and one last attempt on the horizon, they return. Neither leaner or meaner, but keener, armed with a new spreadsheet that should mean they make it to the finish line before they close the race. This film is a raw, funny, and deeply human portrait of friendship, ageing bodies, unfinished business, and a man who probably shouldn’t be running long distances… but does anyway.
