This short film about forever unfolds from the POVs of father (max) and son (kip) as they attempt to write a book about what forever means. The father feels overwhelmed by all of the threats to forever, like forever chemicals, and calls an unlikely hero – Mark Ruffalo – to ask for help seeing the big picture.
Sustainability Notes:
We are too small of a company to have anything fancy, but I made this all in my house and back yard, using watercolor and a desk as a set. Very very very small footprint (not just talking about the toddlers shoes)

Annika: Where She Lands is a short documentary following U.S. Nordic Combined athlete Annika Malacinski as she pushes the boundaries of sport—and equality. Nordic Combined remains the only Olympic event without a women’s division. As the world inches toward change, Annika stands at the forefront, training relentlessly while advocating for inclusion on the world’s biggest stage. This film captures an athlete not only chasing excellence, but fighting for something bigger than herself. With a major IOC decision ahead, Where She Lands offers an intimate glimpse at the heart, grit, and hope driving the women of Nordic Combined.

The most beautiful film in this year's festival. An absolute stunner on the big screen!Frit Tam
Alex and Marianne decided to live out their love for the ocean by living on their sailboat Diatomée, currently in French Polynesia. Alex develops underwater photography while Marianne enjoys being his model by practicing her passion for dance underwater. Animal lovers and freedivers, they set themselves the challenge of creating an aquatic ballet amid the incredible marine wildlife they encounter every day. An ethical and respectful approach, without feeding or physical contact, was paramount in their eyes. The idea was to blend into nature and show that humans have a place there if they do not arrive as conquerors.
Sustainability Notes:
We made this film with a very small team: just two people, using our own resources, sailing and free diving. We hope this film raises awareness of the beauty of nature and inspires people to respect it.
A family camping trip to Yosemite - with the camp being half way up El Capitan. Beautiful, cute and occasionally terrifying. One of the best films of this year.Paul Hodgson Music Judge
As part of their year of education through adventure - professional climber Leo Houlding shares his favourite place with his favourite people. From homeschooling at 2000ft to portaledge snow ball fights - Jackson and Freya scale the Muir Wall on El Capitan, supported by Mum, Jess and dad, Leo (with help from Xander Bianchi and Wilson Cutbirth). The first in a 3 part series of short films documenting the families expeditions, “Big Walls and Bedtime Stories” will explore how, given the opportunity, children are far more capable than most realise and can accomplish extraordinary things (with a good dose of parenting realities along the way!). The series will explore our ever increasing disconnection from nature and risk, and how fundamental these things are for strengthening our mind, body and soul for life’s challenges away from the wall. Come and hang out with the family!
Sustainability Notes:
The small team on this film has ensured minimal impact. Footage was self shot by the family ensuring no additional crew were flown anywhere, and the post production was carried out remotely in my home office, with calls and meetings being conducted online. The call to action from a sustainability point of view is to encourage the younger generation and parents to get outside and connect with nature. We often only love and care for that which we know.

After soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu, Kilian Bron and his team set off to explore the remote Dolpo region. There, far from the beaten paths, their journey unfolds along dizzying lines and through isolated villages, frozen in time. A raw and authentic adventure, shaped by the unknown, by risks, and by discoveries. The very essence of travel in a valley steeped in history.
Love this episode of the Hart-Turgeon family series with its uplifting yet grounded feel to parenting. Once I’d watched this first episode, I couldn’t help but binge-watch the second and third. I don’t know if this is “disaster-style” parenting, but whatever it is, I’m all for it.Frit Tam

Mountaineer Brian Hall became curious after discovering that a friend had helped break a world record in 1976 by walking backwards 80 miles from Leeds to Kendal in 24 hours. Investigation revealed a history of retro walking that stretched back over two centuries, which included an attempt to walk backwards around the world, and a backwards mountaineering ascent and descent of Kilimanjaro. Furthermore, there exists a culture of athletic training and injury rehabilitation, with incredible feats of retro running having been recorded over distances from the marathon to one hundred metres.'
Sustainability Notes:
Small production working locally in Sheffield and the Peak District. Promotes walking (backwards)

From sharks to seals to whales and everything in-between, Cape Town in South Africa is renowned for wildlife encounters in the water. But it’s rare for surfers to see a penguin, let alone share a few waves with one – until this little guy came along. (African Penguins are critically endangered. You can directly help efforts to save them by supporting organisations like SANCCOB) A short film by Now Now Media presented by Monster Energy in association with O’Neill Featuring Eli Beukes, Brendon Gibbens and others Produced by Alan van Gysen Written and Directed by Will Bendix

Terrific short about rebuilding, and then riding, a bike trail in the wake of Storm Darragh. Most enjoyable!Paul Hodgson Music Judge
Born from destruction. Built against the clock. When Storm Darragh tore across the Welsh coast under a rare red weather warning, it left Dyfi in chaos. The bike park was shut for days. Several tracks were buried. And one entire hillside was considered a total loss. Trees were snapped, debris stacked head-high, and branches were pinned under load, ready to twist or recoil without warning. Even walking through it felt hostile. Working through it with saws was something else entirely. Most people would have cleared it and moved on. Geeisn't like most people. “This was a beautiful forest, something that was close to my heart. And I wanted to create something to remember it by.” The result is Windfell, the newest film project from the Athertons and one of the most demanding builds of Gee’s career. Ladder drops braced on shattered trunks. Sniper landings with no runout. Splintered wood everywhere. At one point Gee found himself browsing stab-proof vests in preparation to ride the line. “Through summer the zone had felt like a building environment. We were just cutting, shaping, grinding. Every day you were dodging bullets. The build was almost as, if not more, dangerous than the riding. It was the wrong way around for what we’re used to.” Filmed in Dyfi and ridden on Gee’s S.200 DH bike, Windfell is a mix of technical trail building, high-consequence riding, and a race against time before the approaching winter shut the project down for good. It is not a Ridgeline film, but it carries the same zero-margin-for-error focus that defines Gee’s most iconic work.
Sustainability Notes:
We really enjoyed the fact that the build was all completely self-contained. We took fallen timber out of that section and had it milled just down the rod and brought back in to create the features, nothing added start to finish, just what nature had given us. All the build crew and filmers/ photogrpher are locally based and big supporters of a low carbon way of life and business.
