Down the Ladybower plughole!
About
What lies beneath the plugholes?
Nothing says adventure like heading into the Peak with pals, camping out, and then abseiling down a massive, iconic plughole (if plugholes can be iconic).
That's exactly what Stan Hammond and friends did in The Plughole Project, a film which represents the sheer joy of adventure that ShAFF is all about. It's part of our Made in Sheffield screenings – films made in, shot in, or featuring Sheffield and the Peak District.
As for what's down those holes? Well, you'll have to come along and find out.
Epic films Made in Sheffield
From Sheffield to the Olympics

Snowboarding Mam Tor
Filmed on a total budget of "twenty quid and a jam sandwich", Steve Fletcher hits the perfect powder at sunrise. I mean, honestly, what's not to like about this one? Properly joyful, and set in our own backyard.
A Trip to Mam Tor is showing in Made in Sheffield 1.
Restoring the Peak District landscape
Ash dieback has ravaged our local landscape, as any hike in the woods will show you. This film follows the fightback, as a project seeks to bring ravine woodlands back to life. A testament to the power of partnership.
Life in the Ravines is showing in Made in Sheffield 1.
Could Sheffield grow its own wheat?
A lyrical documentary following an ambitious community experiment. "Makes me so proud and excited to be living in Sheffield. Incredible folks doing incredible things". Frit Tam, ShAFF Co-Director.

Proof that age doesn't define limits.
Follow Rob Matheson’s return to the uncompromising E7 6b sea-cliff route The Bells, The Bells! Explore the mindset, history, and drive behind an iconic climber who, at 74 years old, proves he's not done yet. From local filmmakers Coldhouse Collective.

Awesome ShAFF posters by Hallam students
Illustration students at Hallam Uni are currently making beautiful, unique posters for each Made in Sheffield film. During the festival we'll display the posters at The Outpost in Showroom Workstation, and in the cinema cafe.
Spot one you like? You'll be able to buy prints and cards from the students themselves. I'm personally hoping for a gothic horror plughole poster.
