More about LIFE in the Ravines
Join members of the LIFE in the Ravines team as they share their vital work to protect precious ravine woodlands across the Peak District that are being brought back to life through the largest restoration project of its kind. Thousands of native trees are being planted to replace those lost to devastating ash dieback disease. The six-year initiative, using EU LIFE Programme funding, is restoring up to 25% of the region's most severely damaged woodlands within the Peak District Dales Special Area of Conservation (SAC), creating resilient habitats that will protect this rare ecosystem for future generations. Natural England leads this vital partnership, working alongside Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Chatsworth Estate, and the National Trust to protect these precious habitats.
