Join Hetty Kingston as she shares her journey into motherhood and how it has reshaped her sense of adventure. From the early days of sleepless nights and toddler chaos to taking part in an ultra-distance bikepacking race in Switzerland, Hetty reflects on how becoming a parent has challenged her, inspired her, and helped her rediscover herself. She’ll share the realities of balancing training, logistics, and family life, showing how she tackles long rides, mountain climbs, and big days out - with her twins by her side! This talk is about finding joy in the little moments, celebrating small victories, and embracing motherhood without shrinking your ambitions.
More about Hetty
Local cyclist Hetty Kingston lives in the Peak District with her partner and twin daughters, Annie and Flo. When she’s not running her business focused on making the outdoors more accessible and inclusive, she’s usually outside chasing her next adventure - scaling mountains, plunging into cold water, riding her bike for miles, faffing with climbing gear, or running up steep hills. Her adventures have taken her from climbing 4,000m peaks in the Alps to bikepacking through Slovenia and ski-touring in Kazakhstan.
Hetty is also the author of Gravel Rides Peak District, sharing her love of exploring wild places by bike. A self-confessed jack of all trades rather than a professional athlete, she thrives on embracing chaos, trying hard, and finding joy in big days out - often with her twins along for the ride.
