We're hugely grateful to Paul Barton and Hannah Bird at Peak District based graphic designers Design everything for our new Sheffield Adventure Film Festival logo.
A keen mountain biker and trail runner Paul Barton embraced the brief to come up with a new logo that celebrated the filmmakers and athletes who star in the films as much as the festival weekend itself. Hannah Bird, also a trail runner, designed the bespoke Sheffield Adventure Film Festival font.
We love the way it works as a stand alone logo but can also be overlaid over stills and video - perfect for sharing on social media - or used to frame the films themselves which is great for posters and the website.
The squares make it infinitely flexible - working in portrait orientation, equally as well as in landscape format so it can be used across print and social media.
It has also helped us overcome a major marketing issue of how to get across the idea that ShAFF is a film festival that celebrates a multitude of sports from climbing, running and biking to kayaking, skiing and BASE jumping.

OTHER EXAMPLES OF THEIR WORK
Paul also designed our Cycle To The Cinema logo, expressing the concept of encouraging people to get on their bike and cycle to watch inspiring films in great locations. As Paul says, "The logo balances the word 'cinema' with the 'bits of bike' characters to convey the theme." We love the clever use of the chain to suggest the old fashioned film reels.
It's also worth mentioning that Paul has also designed the kit for his local Chinley Churners Cycling Club which has proved a big hit.
