We can't really spend a single day listening to the radio or watching the TV without hearing about the climate crisis. Clearly we are all affected and will be much more so in the future. Our method of travel to our chosen rock/mountain/wilderness destination is the biggest component of our carbon footprint of our trips. For some people it is bigger than every other apect of their lives. It is clear to me that it is desirable to minimise this footprint, if nothing else, so we don't feel we are part of the problem.
