Rookie Award Winners Announced

ROOKIE FILMMAKER AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

We are pleased to announce that the winners of this year's Rookie Filmmaker Award have been selected! Up-and-coming filmmakers Darshan Gajjar and Ai Narapol impressed the panel with their pitch for a short adventure film based in the Peak District. They will receive £1,000 to make their film, and will be mentored through the production process by the creative team at Coldhouse Collective, an adventure media production company based in Hathersage.

Funded by the Friends of ShAFF patrons, the film will premier at ShAFF 2023 on 3-5 March, and will be shown in schools around Sheffield to inspire the next generation of filmmakers. The previous winner was 16-year old Jasmine, whose film Through Our Eyes was created during lockdown, and screened at ShAFF 2022.
