Ends

On Sunday afternoon, Runners against Rubbish are hosting a plog - that's a combined litterpick and group run, if you're not familiar!

We will meet in the Showroom ready to set off at 2:45 - and head out for a short run to the Porter Brook Pocket Park. Along the way we will pick up rubbish we find. Roger the remote-control wheelie bin will be there to collect all our rubbish, and once we've finished tidying up we will celebrate with a bit of a running skills session. We'll be hopping, skipping and jumping to hone our balance and strength. Once the park is looking spotless and we're all as springy as mountain goats we will head back to the Showroom. If there's time we will visit the Cholera monument on the return journey.

Who can come? This is a family friendly event intended for all ages, so we'd love to see you there! Parents will need to join their children, and we suggest a minimum age of 4. If your child is desperate to attend but you can't come along then get in touch with us on runnersagainstrubbish@gmail.com and we'll see if there's anything we can do, but this is intended to be an event for all ages so we'd love to see you all there. Note that tickets are required for children only - a child's ticket entitles them to bring as many adults as they like!

What's the route? The total distance will be around 3km if we visit the Cholera monument, 2km if we don't. Obviously you will need to be able to run 2-3km at a gentle jogging pace, though if you'd rather walk you are welcome to meet us in the park.

How many tickets should I book?  Note that tickets are required for children only - a child's ticket entitles them to bring as many adults as they like! Book your children's places through the link below.

Where will we meet? We'll meet in the Showroom bar at 2:45 and be back by 4:15.

What to bring: Bags will be provided by RAR, we've also got a few litterpickers but it might be worth bringing a pair of gloves with you).

We look forward to seeing you there - let's show the world that activism isn't difficult or scary, it's about groups of good people going and doing good stuff!
