This is the story of one woman’s pursuit to cross some of the most inhospitable places on earth. It takes the audience on a journey of desperation and determination for the sake of re-pioneering adventures. We will see her dissolve into insignificance as she becomes part of the landscape and will celebrate with her as she encounters survival and the unknown struggles. Lucy is a solo female adventurer who is best known for traversing the Americas in pursuit of becoming the first woman to walk the length of the world with her dog, Wombat. The film will take an honest look at what it is to be a female adventurer and showcase Lucy's pragmatic and playful approach to life in the wilderness while subtly exploring her challenges which are unique to female adventurers. It will also capture the cinematographic beauty of the environment she passes in the raw; in its furious inhospitable torment, and its femininity; drawing parallels between how she, as a women, moves through and survives the environment. Sustainability Notes Lucy's journey is one of the most sustainable on the planet. Over 5 years she will slowly be moving north all on foot. As explained in the movie she spends all of her nights in her tent. I joined Lucy on her journey for a month. During filming on set, we were walking north the entire way covering 370km. I caught a small knee injury in the last week and took a taxi to the last down, but aside from that the entire film was shot on foot.
