About

In 1955, 3 friends from Scotland pioneered the first-ever all-female expedition to the Himalayas. Their adjective was a first ascent in the Jugal Mountains of Nepal. In the decades since their return, only five expeditions have explored this area. It remains remote, unknown and ready for discovery. Nearly 70 years later, four female Scottish mountaineers followed in their footsteps, looking for new skiing and climbing routes above the Jugal Glacier. Another pioneering expedition in its own right, its agenda is to explore what success in the mountains looks like, both environmentally, morally, culturally, and personally.
