This film follows the journey of a group of history and adventure enthusiasts seeking to cross a section of the infamous Darien Gap jungle in Panama, with hopes to then follow the coast south in search of the remains of a historic Scottish Colony, known as the Darien Scheme. Along the way, not only will they be challenged by the difficult surroundings and efforts of the journey, but also their preconceptions about how they will be received in a place they have been told is "inhospitable". As their focus is inevitably drawn from the past onto the present, the story has wider implications for how we travel, interact and benefit remote communities and areas.
