About

Starts

11 Nov '20 | 7:30pm

Robert Anderson led the ascent of a new route on Everest’s remote Kangshung face without oxygen or Sherpa support, described by Reinhold Messner as “The best ascent of Everest in terms and style of pure adventure!’ Nine Lives covers his nine expeditions to Everest, focusing on the life threatening or life defining moments on each of his climbs. From dodging rockfalls on the West Ridge, to avalanches on the Kangshung Face, to bivouacs at over 8,000 meters on the North Face solo, his adventures encompass life as an elite mountaineer on the worlds’ tallest peak. His books on climbing include Seven Summits Solo, and To Everest via Antarctica, while Antonovs over the Arctic, covers his flight to the North Pole in a Russian biplane. In his lectures he has enthralled audiences from both the corporate world, with talks for American Express, Bank of America, British Airways, Kiehl’s, Nike and Rolex. When not leading expeditions, Anderson has had an international career as an advertising Executive Creative Director, Agency Founder and manager with Ogilvy, FCB and Digitas, in offices ranging from New Zealand to New York. He lives in Dubai with fellow Mountain Guide and Modern Foreign Language teacher Josephine Clark. His children Myles and Phoebe attend the University of Auckland and University of London respectively. Anderson is a Fellow at The Explorers Club and a member of Outward Bounds Board of Advisors.
