Idealistic and challenging. On the surface it's a very gentle film about living off the land and surfing, but it poses the uncomfortable question, what am I doing to shape our planet's future?

Anna Paxton

It's amazing what you can achieve with a surfboard and a Spade. 🌏

A character study of a city. The stars are the people that live in San Francisco as Ricky Gates runs every street to get to know them better.

Anna Paxton

Urban ultra running - in San Francisco. Clever, interesting and beautifully shot with an understated but gripping spiritual and political edge. This film will put a smile on your face.

Paul Hodgson Music Judge

In the same thread of his trans continental run across America and getting to know a very thin line of his own country, Rickey Gates decides to run every single street in San Francisco - to get to know a very small area of America, as well as its people, intimately. With over 1100 Miles of streets the film documents Rickey’s journey, and the people he meets long the way, as he runs into midst of one of the most iconic and diverse cities in the world.

Interesting social study of surfing in Cuba. Quite gritty but uplifting.

Paul Hodgson Music Judge

A raw slice of Cuba, recommended.

Anna Paxton

Really motivating piece, made me want to book a trip, contact brands, get out there with Surfboards.

Claire Carter Writer, Film Officer for Kendal Mountain Festival, 'Creative Consultant'.

Inside the communist country of Cuba exists a small but passionate community of surfers who, due to a lack of economic opportunity and governmental support for the sport, number no more than 150. This film colorfully documents the Cuban surf community's struggles and how they overcome them in order to pursue their passion–Cubans don't think about the problem, they think about the solution.

In a time when there's so much focus on division, this is a sweet (if idealistic) film that reminds us to check our imaginary borders and reconnect.

Anna Paxton

Watch this. 'We are all human's here'

Claire Carter Writer, Film Officer for Kendal Mountain Festival, 'Creative Consultant'.

During the longest government shutdown in American history, we assembled a team from Mexico and a team from the USA to establish a highline across the border between us. “In a world that is constantly trying to tear us apart, we are here to come together, to cross those imaginary lines that divide us...”

Our greatest hope for this film is that we create something that goes far beyond ourselves… Using this highline as a medium for sparking a conversation and creating a positive shift in our world. Thank you for being a part of this story. Let's make some waves together.

Hilarious film about the East German Olympic swimming team. đź‘™ Must watch

Ed Birch Director of Salt-Street productions

Cold - very cold - water swimming, by amusing codgers old and young. A slow burner but there's more going on here than you first realise.

An intimate short film exploring masculinity, trauma healing and idiosyncratic group dynamics.

Claire Carter Writer, Film Officer for Kendal Mountain Festival, 'Creative Consultant'.

Every weekend through the winter, a group of middle-aged men, who dub themselves the East German Ladies Swimming Team, plunge into the freezing waters of a pond in central London. 'The Home for Broken Toys' follows the team through one season to explore their motivations for braving the extreme cold each week, a decision which seems alien to the filmmaker. The reasons she discovers are by turns comedic, poignant, and profound.
