While cinemas aren't able to reopen yet, the ShAFF team have been revisiting past festivals and choosing the best adventure films from around the world. We've created weekly watchlists of free online adventure films for your indoor entertainment and inspiration, and we’re posting a new film, free to view online, at 7pm every day. Watch them one by one, or save them up and screen your own virtual ShAFF session at home.

What is spirited film with some tough subject put to an audience in a loving and funny way. It's got to be a must watch as a festival.

Pleasure Island - Britain's Abandoned Playgrounds (Episode 1)
A crew of highly skilled urban athletes travel the UK.

Sheffield’s own Salt Street Productions took a crew of talented young urban athletes on a road trip this summer. They explored some of Britain’s biggest abandoned places to see if they could BMX, freerun, skateboard and highline at them. The first in a series of six, in this episode the crew explore Pleasure Island, an abandoned theme park at Cleethorpes.

Channel 4 commissioned up-and-coming Sheffield-based Salt Street Productions to produce a six-part series that explores some of Britain’s most interesting locations via a group of young, talented urban athletes. Travelling across the UK on a converted double decker bus freerunner Katie McDonnell, highliner Jediah Doohan, BMX rider Pete Catherall and skateboarder Calvin Ligono will breathe new life into six lost locations as they physically explore each space through their chosen sport.

A journey through Scotland discovering that the weather is just as fickle, the people just as welcoming and the climbing just as demanding it's always been.

Classy Scottish climbing documentary. Includes she very nice Bothy action.

The wonderfully warm Scottish voiceover of this film whisks you away on a winter climbing adventure to Scotland. A feel-good cinematic celebration of friendships formed on expeditions. While Rab's American athletes are awe-inspiring, the real star of the film is without a doubt mountaineering legend Myrtle Simpson.

From the climbers and skiers who live for Scottish winter to the musicians and craftspeople who make their living in the highlands, so much of our inspiration still comes from the mountains of Scotland. 

 With the Rab family now extending far beyond these isles, in January 2017 we invited athletes and staff from our US Team to come and experience Scottish winter with us. 

This film, produced by Coldhouse Collective, catalogues their journey through the country as they discover that the weather is just as fickle, the people just as welcoming and the climbing just as demanding as they'd always heard.

19-year old Margo Hayes is determined to become the first woman to climb 5.15, a grade achieved by only a few men.

Girl power to the max what an incredible woman. A great feel good film get the whole family inspired and Discover they are no such thing as boundaries.

Nobody thought women could climb 5.15... then came Margot Hayes. This film is a celebration of her achievement, and a reminder never to accept barriers imposed by yourself or anyone else. Super inspiring!

This is probably THE climbing film you want to see at this year's SHAFF. Very well made, with some top notch characters, and climbing move you have to see to believe. Recommended.

In high-end modern rock climbing, 5.15 is the top of the difficulty scale, a grade achieved by only a few men and never by a woman. Margo Hayes, a little known 19-year-old from Boulder, Colorado, is determined to change that. To be closer to the world’s hardest routes, she has moved to Europe, where she trains and climbs with the goal of succeeding on two of the most iconic 5.15s in France and Spain. But pushing her body and mind to the absolute limit, she risks injury and failure in her quest to be the first.
