A new addition to ShAFF, a second selection of the best films Made In Sheffield this year specifically dedicated to Climb Films. Made in Sheffield films could be created by local filmmakers, feature local athletes, or be shot in Sheffield and/or the Peak District.

In a city with a wealth of world class climbing and climbers it's not surprising there's a whole session's worth of Climb films. Friends of the Grit explores the climbing ethics and traditions of the famous Peak District as Belgian rock climber Siebe Vanhee takes on various Gritstone's test pieces. Follow the fottunes of familiar athletes as they battle for podium positions Behind the scenes at the British Bouldering Championships, shot at Cliffhanger in Sheffield 2022. Then, from hand sized splitters and chicken wings to whole body wriggles, The Last Forgotten Art follows crack climbing aficionados in their pursuit of unusual ‘off-width' climbs in the Peak District. While La Bavaresse follows Sheffield-based pro climber Steve McLure on a recent trip to Sardinia, and Peak District filmmakers Coldhouse Collective present an episode of The Ascension Series - Adam Raja.

Made In Sheffield - Climb is one of five Climb Films sessions at ShAFF 2023. The others are Climb Films 1 & 2; collections of the best new shorter climbing films from around the world, and two feature films Adam Ondra: Pushing The Limits and An Accidental Life

This new session complements Made In Sheffield, a selection of the best new films made in Sheffield this year.
